Pallium

Pallium (lat.) – mantle
In 2008, my mother was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. I moved back to the village where I grew up and took care of her for six months until her death. Simple things defined my life, accompanied by the uncertainty of what tomorrow would bring. Over time, I learned to accept that death was inevitable. We were supported by a mobile team of professionals who specialized in palliative care. My radius of action was limited during this time. It ranged from the hospital bed to our garden. Perhaps that’s why I noticed above all the small changes in my surroundings – the dynamics of nature, its permanence, but also its indifference.
